Tour of Lake Moiry (loop)

Located in the heart of Val d’Anniviers, Lake Moiry impresses with its turquoise color and alpine surroundings. This loop, which starts at the foot of the dam, offers a panoramic view of the high mountain landscape, including flower-filled meadows, moraines, and breathtaking views of the lake.
The trail, which is steep in places, winds between the riverbanks and surrounding slopes, revealing views of the Weisshorn peaks and the Moiry Glacier at every turn. A comprehensive and varied hike, ideal for lovers of high-altitude landscapes and photography.
Lake Moiry – Lake Autannes

Easy to moderate (approximately 450 m elevation gain)

From the Moiry Dam, the trail climbs gradually towards Lake Autannes. The route crosses open terrain, passing scree slopes, streams, and high-altitude pastures, with the glacier and peaks of the Val d’Anniviers as a backdrop. Lake Autannes appears at the bottom of a rocky cirque, often still bordered by snowfields in early summer.
This is an accessible hike that invites you to take the time to observe the changing colors of the water and the silence of the mountains.
Lake Moiry – Lake Châteaupré (loop)

Moderate (approximately 580 m elevation gain)

Starting from the Moiry dam, the trail first follows the shores of the lake before gently climbing towards the Châteaupré valley. The climb takes you through a landscape of rocks, short grass and small streams. Châteaupré Lake is set in peaceful surroundings, surrounded by grassy slopes and morainic boulders. The return trip on the other side offers a different view of Moiry Lake and the dam. This is a pleasant hike, combining moderate effort with a high-mountain atmosphere.
Hike in the heart of the Moiry Glacier

Moderate to strenuous (approximately 750 m elevation gain)

This hike goes up the valley towards the glacier. The trail first runs along the lake before climbing up the moraine, where you gradually feel the proximity of the ice. The landscape becomes more rocky and the temperature drops slightly as you approach the glacier front. The route offers a beautiful immersion into the world of high mountains, between erratic blocks, silence, and changing light. Walking at your own pace will allow you to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the place.
Grimentz / Dam – Moiry Hut

Moderate to somewhat difficult (approximately 600 m elevation gain)

From the Moiry dam, the trail climbs steadily towards the hut. The route first crosses rocky terrain, then becomes steeper as it approaches the summit. Throughout the climb, the view of the lake and mountains gradually opens up. Upon arrival, the hut faces the glacier, in a peaceful atmosphere open to the high mountains. It is a challenging but accessible hike, offering a remarkable natural setting.
